My Journey to a Healthier Lifestyle

Hi, I'm Alma. I've been married for 18 years and have three kids. Lately, I've been thinking about my younger days.

When I was in my 20s and 30s, I had lots of energy from morning to night. I could eat pizza and burgers without gaining weight and still stayed in great shape without going to the gym much.

 I also felt confident and happy wearing cool clothes like tight tops, tank tops, and shorts.

But when I got into my 40s, things started to change. Now, I'm trying to find ways to feel like my younger self again.

After I turned 40, I noticed that my body started changing quickly. I gained weight in places I didn’t want, and it seemed like my metabolism had slowed down a lot. I didn’t feel as healthy, and I had very little energy throughout the day.

Because of this, I started going to bed earlier, hoping more sleep would help me feel better. Sometimes, I even slept for 12 hours, but I still felt tired all day. It wasn’t until later that I realized how bad things had gotten.

The wake-up call came during a holiday visit to Arizona with my husband to see his family. We rented a condo on Airbnb, and in the bathroom, I saw a fancy digital scale. We hadn't had a scale at home for years. Hesitantly, I stepped on it, just out of curiosity. The number on the screen shocked me: 180 pounds. I couldn’t believe it; I thought it had to be a mistake.

What my friend, the personal trainer, revealed completely took me by surprise!
